How it works. The HELA does not have a traditional fixed airfoil.
It has a flexible airfoil - coined "FlexFoil."
When the disc rotates freely in the air, the airfoil becomes defined by the convex upper surface and the higher pressure surfaces below.
The FlexFoil also changes shape during flight as rotational forces flatten the disc by pulling the weighted ends apart.
